The Reaction

Kids have got to be the funniest creatures on the planet! If it weren't for my goofy little kids, I would be the grumpiest person on earth. But how can I possibly have a frown with them around?

Will and I told them about the baby last night and they all had very different reactions than I expected. Kassie's first words were, "Dad, we need to get a baby swing." Probably indicating that she wasn't going to share her new swing that we hung from the deck a few days ago. Mason and Christopher started spouting out names. Christopher wants to name "him" Chris Jr. and Mason suggested we name "him" Mom Jr. I can see it now! These are my sons: Christopher, Mason and Mom Jr.
I kept pushing the subject on Kassie throughout dinner, because I didn't feel she was adequately excited and I got nothing! Then, on the ride home, in one last desperate attempt to get her revved up, I said, "Kassie. Did you know that mom has a baby in her tummy?" To this she repeated with a scrunched up nose, "You have a baby in your tummy?" My reply, "Yep." Then she looked at me as if she had new understanding and said, "Oh." and put her head phones on and continued watching her "mermaid movie" like there was nothing else going on in the world. She'll come around...righhhhttt?
On the other hand, Mason's overexcited. He was spouting off all kinds of pregnancy scenario's on the way home, which makes me wonder what he's really learning in Public School! He told me about a woman that was trying to get away from a flood so she climbed a tree and had her baby up there! Hahaha! What a weirdo! Mason that is...and also the tree woman was kind of a weird story too.
Christopher is excited too! He experienced a natural sugar rush that made us all fear for our lives. Then he started a stroll down memory lane, reminding us how him and Mason said they were going to marry Kassie. Then I remembered Mason explaining to Tammy (one of my mother in laws) that he had to marry Kassie, cuz his mom was already married to his dad.
Funny, Funny kids!

Hurray!! Congratulations to the MunnKey Family.

I'm eating lunch, cottage cheese and pears reading your first entry Mari, not a good combination to a little kittys comment.

Daddy came through very fast!!
Oh!! With them little ones you got to be ready. I'm Sure there will be more as little miss kitty gets the hang of this little baby thing.

Very clever Hugh Jack Munn, I do like the ring to it. I'm going to have to look up this Hugh jackman, who is he?

Mason's remark is so cute. You'll have to remind him that when Cassie and Mason are teens and they are fighting. Mason do you remember when? Only natural he will deny it and Cassie will say Yuck. Then the fight is over Hopefully.

Hugh Jackman plays in movies like X-Men, Van Helsing and there's this cute little love story one called Kate and Leopold that has him and Meg Ryan in. My little brother and I always watched the cartoon of X-Men when we were younger and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman's character in the movie) was my favorite. So that is really where this fascination of mine comes from...

Ok, I'm blind, possibly didn't have my glasses on. Good excuss. Here I go, Kassie, there I spelled it right this time. As i was reading comments it was something I had noticed I did.

How are you feeling Meri? Have the boys excepted Hugh Jack Munn? Which I do now know who he is...
Kate and Leopold is one of my favorites.

When you start showing and Hugh is active, Kassie will get really excited, I promise.

If it makes you feel any better Laura, I spell Kassie with a C sometimes too. It didn't start happening until recently so maybe it is pregnancy that's doing it to me.

I'm hopefully getting better with the morning sickness. However...I still have this cold that has hung on for over a month! Hopefully I'm better by Friday, cuz we're getting a Disneyland trip in before the baby comes. I know! We're crazy Disneyland people...what can i say!

The boys are super excited! Christopher has been telling me how fun it will be to have a baby around the house again. (Kate and Leopold is one of my favorites too, but don't tell Will...he thinks i'm all about action/adventure films.) Kassie is funny too though...she asks me every other day " Is that baby still in your tummy?" So it will be fun when she can feel it kick and stuff.
